Acting Minister of Defence Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob says American drones have been entering Afghanistan via Pakistan.

Acting Foreign Minister Mawlavi Amir khan Muttaqi met his counterparts Mr.Rashid Murdadov Deputy foreign minister and other Turkmen officials in an official visits to Ashgabat capital of Turkmenistan.

Hunger and destitution seem "poised to kill more Afghans than all the bombs and bullets of the past two decades", the International Crisis Group thinktank said, calling donors' suspension of all but emergency aid "the biggest culprit".

The crisis, with a shortage of food, employment and liquidity, has prevented the Taliban from keeping their promise of outlawing opium production in the country.
