I’m proud that flood-hit areas’ water, power problems solved after one week/Meeting with pious people of Kalani village boosted our spirits
Speaking on Saturday evening at the session of Crisis Management Task Force of Sistan and Baluchistan Province, President Hassan Rouhani said, "I assure the flood-hit people of Sistan and Baluchistan that the government will mobilise all its power and facilities for fixing the damages”.

He also described the people of Kalani border village as proud, pious and resistant, saying, “Meeting with these people boosted our spirits”.

Referring to ministers’ reports at the session, he said, “I am proud one week after the floods happened, the water and power problems have been resolved”.

The President also instructed Minister of Energy to speed up the process of finalising two dams in the province and said that 14,000 urban and rural housing units will be reconstructed.

He expressed pleasure for being in a border village about 20 to 25 kilometres from the border, saying, "The people of this province, especially those in the border areas, are hospitable people who are faithful and resistant despite floods and problems”.

Dr Rouhani noted, "The point that the Crisis Management Task Force and Mr Najjar wrote was that when they were delivering the aids to the villages, those that did not need them told them to take the aid to the village they needed most. This shows the honesty and brotherhood of the people of the province”.

The president said that people around the world experience natural disasters, saying, "There are storms, tsunamis, earthquakes, floods and wildfires all over the world, and even a developed country has weeks of wildfires in its forest and cannot put it out with all the facilities and money available to them”.

Dr Rouhani noted, "I am proud of all the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran, from the noble people of the country to the armed forces and government officials, because a week after the floods, the electricity problem has been resolved in the province and today we have no village that has power outages”.

The President added, "In spite of the many problems we had, we did not have any casualties, which is an honour for the people, the government, the armed forces and the relief forces, the Red Crescent, the emergency, the crisis headquarters, and the governorate”.

"Of course, people have had a lot of problems in terms of their living, housing, agriculture, roads and infrastructure and these problems must be resolved and we will fix them,” added the President.

He also went on to say, "Allocation of 280 million cubic meters of fresh water is good news for Sistan and Baluchistan province”.

“I assure the people of the province that the government will mobilise its full potential to repair the flood damage,” continued the President.

Dr Rouhani also added, "The province's unity, solidarity and security are very valuable and commendable”.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran continued, "Parts of our path to development have been obstructed by the enemies, but our growth will not stop”.
